Welcome to the Blog: More Than Just Real Estate
I have been a San Diego resident since 2007 and have helped San Diego buyers, sellers and investors for 15 years. In that time I have learned that a home is never just a transaction. It is the yard you will garden in, the HOA you will pay into, the utility bill that shows up every month and the climate you will live with for years. All of it affects your quality of life, and all of it affects your home's value.
So this blog will not always be about real estate. It will always be about things that matter to people who own a home, or want to.
What you will find here
- Real estate news. Interest rates, market shifts and new California laws, with a plain explanation of what each one means for you.
- Homes. Which upgrades are worth the money, which ones are not, and what to look for before you buy.
- Gardening. Drought-tolerant landscaping, growing food in Southern California and curb appeal that works with our climate instead of against it.
- The environment. Water, wildfire, solar, energy rates and insurance. These are no longer side topics. They show up in inspection reports, HOA budgets and closing costs.
What you will not find here
Fluff. My approach has always been blunt realism, full transparency and decisions based on facts. If the news is good, I will say so. If it is not, I will say that too, and tell you what I would do about it.
Have a topic you want me to cover? Send me a note. I read every message.
